This 37-unit development in the Jackson Square area of Roxbury includes the historic rehabilitation of a building as well as new construction. 8 units are targeted to homeless households.

This development provides 80 units of safe and affordable housing in Dorchester; 20 of these units are for formerly homeless families and 60 units provide workforce housing for low and moderate-income households. St. Mary’s Center provides on-site supportive services for families transitioning to permanent housing and to all residents of the new development. When the project opened, nearly 3,500 applications were received for the housing, demonstrating the overwhelming need for new affordable apartments in the City of Boston.
Christine Wright, a resident of Uphams Crossing, was a presenter at the November 2015 Home Funders Innovation Competition launch event at the State House. Speaking at the event, Christine shared the story of her struggles with great honesty, putting her brave face forward to show that housing is the foundation on which lives can be turned around.
The Gorham Street Apartments project give new life to a long vacant site, stimulating the local economy and creating a property that will serve as a community asset. The project provides 24 apartments for working families with household incomes limited to 60% of the area median income, with 6 units even further affordable to ELI families.
This transit-oriented site in Boston’s Chinatown is conveniently located within walking distance to a number of stores and organizations as well as train stations and bus stops. The renovation of these two- and three-bedroom units provide much needed family housing for the Chinatown area. There are twenty units, of which four are affordable to ELI families.
Bishop Allen Apartments consist of 32 apartments in four buildings and were originally built as residential hotels in the 1880s. Located in the heart of Central Square in Cambridge, this housing has access to transportation and every amenity available in close proximity. 7 units are affordable to ELI families.
Located in Cape Cod, this project feature eight, two-story buildings with 27 total units. Built in a simple, farmhouse style, the development is ambitiously ‘green’ and will generate almost as much energy as it uses. Six units are deeply affordable for ELI families.
